As the memory of winter fades, nature comes alive with vivid colours, green shoots brighten up the landscape, and the vines live in harmony with other plants and animals. You may have noticed when out walking that it is not rare to see grasses, weeds and flowers growing in the vineyards. Are they left there simply because they look nice or is there another reason?
As part of our CSR approach, part of our team received training on the product lifecycle in 2019. The skills acquired enable us to pay particular attention to all of the materials that go into our products and the stakeholders involved in their production.
From bare vine shoots to sun-soaked grapes, the vine goes through various states, which require a sense of observation and know-how in order to help it produce quality wine. Discover the life of the vine on our land!
Motivated by a desire to reduce the overall level of sulphites in our wines, we have taken action! Including technical choices, organoleptic effects and the ranges involved, we look at the main points of our approach, with expertise provided by Véronique Torcolacci, oenologist at Maison Gabriel Meffre.
Owned by Maison Gabriel Meffre since the beginning of the 2000s, Domaine de Longue Toque became one of the references of the Gigondas appellation in the space of just a few years. We are proud of the work carried out by our teams to develop our practices and expertise. After working in accordance with the principles of the “Terra Vitis – Agriculture Raisonnée” quality label for more than a decade, the 2020 vintage is set to be the first to be certified “Agriculture Biologique” (Organic Agriculture)!
This year, our Winery has switched the lighting in most of its buildings over to LEDs. The aim was twofold: to save energy and to improve the quality of our lighting. This action comes under our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
We are continuing our series of profiles on the women in our winery with that of Yash Ghienne, who holds a senior position in our Export Sales department. Yash was more than happy to answer our questions!
In a purportedly male-dominated industry, our winery’s workforce is 53% female. We thought it would be interesting to publish a series of profiles to introduce some of the women in our business to you. Audrey Chaufournier—QSE Manager and lead coordinator of our CSR strategy—gave a moment of her valuable time to answer some of our questions.
For the past 10 years, our winery has been constantly researching ways to improve our packaging from an ecodesign perspective, a proactive decision that now forms part of our CSR strategy. As one of the first businesses in the industry and the region looking to manufacture lighter customised emblazoned bottles, today we are extending our approach to other lines.
